This tool is THE wooden tool we all need sculpting smaller with polymer clay. My husband makes these tools by hand from Hickory. Hickory is a hardwood wood that will withstand normal handling. It is approximately 6.5" long and at the widest edge is less than 1/4". It is perfect for our scale of work. It is not stained or varnished. However, if you would like to condition the wood, a little mineral oil will be suffice. Don't use a vegetable oil as it will go rancid.
