In 2006, I
stumbled upon the joy of polymer clay. I made jewelry and beautiful canes. I
enjoyed working with the clay but felt there was something more I could do with
this wonderful medium. I looked around the internet and discovered the world of
Art Dolls. I was fascinated with the realistic work of Fairies in the
Attic, Deb Wood, and Patricia Rose. I had to try to create these marvelous
figures.
So I bought some clay and started my collection of books, DVDs, and tapes. I was
so determined and passionate, I decided I would not stop until I was able to
make these beautiful miniature people. Three years later, I continue this
passion. My housecleaning has suffered, my home-cooked meals are less frequent,
most some days I don't leave the house because I am still sculpting.
I will never stop learning, growing or creating. I found the joy of polymer clay
art dolls. I hope you enjoy my work and watch me as I make my dreams come true
as an artist.

Ten
years before polymer clay, I learned how to make soap from scratch. I have a
small business selling soap, teaching soap making and demonstrating soap making
whenever possible. There is a link on the navigation bar for that part of my
business, called "Burson's Corner". There you can find luscious
handmade soaps, creams, balms, and other yummy bath products made completely
from scratch.
Should you want to learn how to make your own handmade soap, please contact me
so we can schedule a class just for you. The class is $250/person and is
for 1-1/2 days. It includes lunch for the first long day, 10+ pounds of soap
that you made, a work-book that I wrote just for my classes that includes all
the information you will need to make soap at home with lye and quality
oils. I do offer a discount if there are 2 in the class, it is just $400
and if you have 3 for $750, then the 4th person is free. I can only accommodate
4 students in my soap studio at a time.

I have
been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 10 years. We dated in the
1970's but as teenagers, went our separate ways. After 22 years, he contacted me
and moved from Oregon to Atlanta to be with me. I took a huge leap of faith and
opened my home and my heart to my first love.
We were married one year later and decided to leave the hectic life of the city
of Atlanta Georgia. We found a beautiful farm in the mountains of Far Western
North Carolina and moved to the peaceful way of life. Although we love it here,
we are now moving to Bedford, Virginia to a new farm (as soon as this one sells)
to continue our dream of living simply and eating organic food we grow.
We don't have children but enjoy our furry babies. We have 2 dogs, Polly and
Josie, both rescues and 5 cats, Sheba, Pedi, Junior, Oboe and Pixie, all
rescues. One day we should get a non-profit status for taking care of all these
animals. We both love animals with a passion and will eat beans and rice just to
take good care of them. LOL Everyone is fixed and get the medical care they
need. I mention this because so many 'rescue' animals but don't really take care
of them. All of our see the vet at least annually and of course whenever there
is a sniffle in the house.
